01   What is a Virtual hosting?

A Virtual Hosting means having the facilities and capability of a server function without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With Virtual Hosting, you will utilize RapidCloud server's storage space and at the same time, you are still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web address, web site ( and by your own personal e-mail address domain name (

What do you need to start virtual hosting?
Basically you will need to have a domain name registered to your website. You can choose from, .com, .net, .biz etc. Thereafter, you can create your own professional email address (

02   Who is InterNIC?

The InterNIC is an independent organization responsible for holding the registration and routing of Internet domain names. Without these people it would be virtually impossible to maintain sanity on the Internet. Registration fee is at RM 55 per year for a .com domain name through us.

03   Who is MyNIC?

MYNIC Berhad is the registry and registrar for the .my domain, and comprises the following departments: registration, billing, system administration, and policy and operational.

MYNIC Berhad was incorporated on 24 May 2006. Prior to that, the Malaysian Network Information Centre (MYNIC) was a division of MIMOS Berhad, a mission-oriented research and development (R&D) government corporation.

04   Can I access my domain address with or without the "www"?
Yes, by hosting with RapidCloud, you are able to access the domain address with or without the "www" in front of the domain name. Example: both [] and [] is acceptable and can be accessed by web users.
05   Do you handle the domain registration process?
Yes, we can help to submit domain request to MyNIC or InterNIC once your account is activated or upon confirmation. Please note that InterNIC will bill you RM 55 for using the domain name per year. If you choose to have MyNIC, they will bill you RM 80 per year for the domain name
06   Can I transfer an existing domain name to your servers?
Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service with your current provider while waiting for MyNIC or InterNIC to complete the transfer process. We will provide you with a temporary IP address so you can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessible through your current provider. When MyNIC or InterNIC announces the completion of the transfer there will be a 24 to 48 hours propagation period where visitors could go to either site. At the end of the propagation, you will be able to have your site fully transferred to RapidCloud.
07   How long does it take before my domain name is active?
Once InterNIC or MyNIC announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 24 hours before it is active. All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect the new site's location.
08   How do I transfer files to my web site?
Files must be transferred to the web server via File Transfer Protocol (FTP). If you need FTP or other Internet software, visit is a source for the latest Internet applications with ratings and reviews to help you decide which application is best suited to your needs.
09   Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?
Yes. You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your own leisure.
10   Can I use my account for commercial purposes?
Yes, you can use your account for commercial purposes. The World Wide Web has become the most efficient and cost-effective means of making information available to the users of the Internet community and we encourage our customers to leverage on such an enormous medium to have a better global reach.
11   Do you provide tech support?
Yes. RapidCloud technical support is available 24 hours X 7 days X 365 days a year. We encourage our customers in need of assistance to e-mail to RapidCloud with questions or concerns about their website or email. However, RapidCloud technical support does not cover HTML syntax or CGI programming problems. This kind of assistance may incur extra charges.

12   How long does it take to set up a new account?
New accounts are generally set up within 1-2 hours from the time we receive your confirmation. Once an account is set up, an activation notice will be sent to you via e-mail including your user-ID, password, and FTP hostname. You can begin uploading files to your new web site immediately. Domain account users will be given a temporary URL to access their site via the web prior to the completion of either domain registration or domain modification.
